INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSIONS

Del Sol Aviation provides FAA-approved flight training for international flight students.


Our Program Directors and Enrollment Team are committed to guiding you through flight school enrollment. We outline each step of the process to offer individualized training advice.

International Admissions Requirements

  • You must be at least 17 years of age.

  • You must have completed minimum high school or equivalent.

  • You must have a valid international passport.

  • You must have a Visa.

  • You must be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language.

TSA clearance for flight training for Aliens
All non-US citizens must receive TSA clearance prior to starting flight training.

  1. Please follow the following procedure to receive your flight training clearance from the TSA:

    1. Log onto the TSA website: https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov

    2. If you have previously registered with this website, login with your user ID and password.

    3. If you have not registered with this website, click on "New Student Account" on the top right of the page, just below "LOGIN".
       

  2. TSA will email your UserID and Password (Make a note of this information for future reference.)

    1. ​Return to the TSA website, https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov and login using your UserlD and Password.

    2. Complete all of the requested information. Make note of the new UserlD that you created and your answers to the 3 security questions.

      1. Submit the following information:

        1. Full name, gender, current address and five-year address history, date and country of birth, and citizenship information.

        2. Passport and visa information — all applicants are required to have a passport. Scan and upload required documents.

        3. Training details as follows:

          1. Category: 3

          2. Provider: Del Sol Aviation

          3. School Student Identification number: first name initial and last name (example: for Eli Luria — eluria )

          4. Course Identification number: 101 (Private Pilot)

          5. Course Name: Private Pilot

          6. Course description: Private Pilot training

          7. Rating goal: Private Pilot ASEL 

          8. Aircraft type: Cessna 172 and Cessna 150 ix.

          9. Start date: about 3 weeks from application.

          10. End date: 1 year from start date or date of Visa expiration, whichever is sooner.
             

  3. The application fee is $130.00. This fee is paid by credit card on-line to the TSA.
     

  4. You must print a copy of your TSA application for Del Sol Aviation records.
     

  5. Once your application is complete, Del Sol Aviation will receive an email from the TSA requesting confirmation that you will be receiving flight instruction from Del Sol Aviation.
     

  6. After the TSA receives confirmation from Del Sol Aviation, the TSA will send you authorization to get fingerprinted.
     

  7. The fingerprints are then sent by the law enforcement agency. The agency taking the fingerprints may elect to charge a fee for the fingerprinting service.
     

  8. After TSA receives the fingerprints and clears you for flight training, they will send you and Del Sol Aviation an email authorization to begin training. This usually occurs about one week after sending the fingerprints.
     

  9. Del Sol Aviation we will take a digital photo of you when you arrive to begin your flight training. Del Sol Aviation will upload this photo to the TSA completing the approval process.


Training must commence within 180 days of approval and finish within 365 days of approval.
