Del Sol Aviation Admissions Requirements

Students may begin flight training at any age. However, the FAA requires student pilots to be at least 16 years old for a solo flight, and 17 years old to qualify for a Private Pilot Certificate.

You must be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language.

You must meet with a Del Sol Aviation Meet & Greet Member before proceeding with the enrollment process.

You must acknowledge that you have sufficient financial resources in place, or accessible funds for flight training.

Must obtain an FAA first class medical for the aviator career program, or a 3 rd class medical if just pursuing a private and/or instrument certificate.

Enrollment Appointment: This appointment will be scheduled with one of our Front Desk Associates to:

Provide copies of your identification documents, medical certificate and student pilot certificate.

Fill out enrollment documents for your student file.

Pay the enrollment fee.

Purchase aircraft renter insurance (single and/or multi-engine).

Purchase all the required training materials.

Be matched with a flight instructor.

Be provided with access to our scheduling program and schedule lessons with your instructor.
